About journal

The journal Polymers in Medicine has been published since 1971. It is now a semi-annual, peer-reviewed, open access journal.

Polymers in Medicine is an independent, multidisciplinary forum to exchange scientific and clinical information, which publishes original papers (technical, analytical, experimental, clinical), preliminary reports and reviews considering the application of synthetic and natural polymers or biomaterials in various fields of medicine, pharmaceutics, biotechnology and veterinary science, including i.a. biochemistry, clinical medicine, controlled drug delivery, pharmacology, dentistry, implantology and bioengineering.

The journal has been indexed in several databases: Scopus, Index Copernicus and since 2007 in Thomson Reuters databases: Science Citation Index Expanded and Journal Citation Reports/Science Edition; it is also indexed in EBSCO, EMBASE, Google Scholar and Arianta. Polymers in Medicine are indexed and included in the National Library of Medicine’s MEDLINE database. English abstracts printed in the journal are included and searchable using PubMed http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed.

Articles published in the journal are worth 120.65 points according to the Index Copernicus (as for 2021). The Scimago Journal Rank (SJR) for 2019 is 0.125 and the SJR Total Cites for 3 years (2016–2019) is 9. Scopus CiteScore for 2017 was 0.8.

From 1 January 2017, online edition is the original version of all published articles.
